A dead man came back to life on a fire rescue to thank me
! I told this fire station story to a mens’ bible study and it blessed and encouraged a lot of guys. For approximately 9 years I prayed for all of the full arrests victims on rescues. I always insisted that I would do the heart compressions. No one knew why, not even my fellow christian firemen, and no one ever heard me pray or comment on it. I always kept my praying to myself. It would have caused a stink of problems. However, I would be praying for the patients’ souls, telling them, “it is not too late to call out to Jesus and repent”. I would command them “in Jesus name to rise and live”.
I do not know how many people I did this for. We ran 4500 runs out of my station every year and most were rescues, but I don’t know how many were full arrests. It would be some where between 100 to 200 that I went on. That is a lot of people to pray for and see no results. Just about every time I could hear the devil tell me that I was stupid, and just wasting my time.  I would say “maybe so, but I am going to do it anyway”. I am just that way. I believe and do not quit. These people were all unconscious. Their hearts had stopped and were getting ready for an eternity of heaven or hell.
Then in the year 1999, we were going shopping at Stater Brothers market for chow. The men went into the market and I stayed outside with the fire truck. A man came up to me and said,” Captain Montgomery? Do you remember me?” I said, “No”. He answered and stated, ” You should, because you prayed for me on a rescue”. I replied, “I prayed for lot of people on rescues, but nobody knows that.” I knew something was up at this point because he also knew my name and that would be impossible. Everyone that I prayed for was unconscious. He then told me how he knew about me and that I prayed for him.
He said, “I was out above my body listening to you and watching you pray. When I saw you today, I just wanted to come over and thank you.” At that moment the alarm went off and we had to go on a run.
I cannot remember the incident with this man. I only know it because he told me the story and confirmed what I had did and I knew that no one else knew. However, I began to wonder why God would let me pray for 8 or 9 years before he gave me a confirmation that my prayers were doing anything. Wouldn’t it been better if He would have done this earlier? I don’t think so.
I believe He finally showed me what is really happening in the spirit world to tell us that we should pray and not give up no matter what, whether we see any visible results or not.
I wonder, how many people will thank me when I get to heaven?
In Luke 18:1 It says: And he spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint;
This is warfare. Don’t ever stop praying and believing for your loved ones’ salvation or deliverance or your enemies or your finances or even sicknesses. Something is happening even though you may not see it. Luke 18:8 says, “Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?” This is the kind of faith that he is talking about. Never stop praying and witnessing. God is on the move and don’t miss His wave.

My friend Dan and I went to the gym a couple days ago, and noticed a guy as big as a house and a big house at that. His head shaven, with earrings and tattoos. He was a bad looking dude. He had made a comment about my FBI shirt. I was not sure if he liked it or was bugged by it. So I left my friend Dan and started up a conversation with him. It didn’t start out good.

He thought that I was calling him stupid over the words on the shirt, which I was not. This guy was in a bad mood. But for some reason I could not back off. He told me, that he was a ex mafia enforcer, served time in jail, was a bouncer at a fight club in downtown San Diego and he didn’t like me standing so close to him. He said in the Big House, I would get a knife in the back for this. I apologized and laughed, and said I didn’t mean anything. He then told me why he was so angry. An employer was trying to cheat him out of money and he was getting ready to deal with it. It did not sound petty. Without asking him, I started praying out loud believng that the man was writing that check out right now, in Jesus’ name. I believe that broke the ice.

He stated that I could never guess how old he was. Without thinking I said 45.  His eyes got big, and our friendship started. He stated that he was a Christian too. In fact before I left he offered that if anybody ever messed with me that he would take care of them. I thanked him. I believe the Holy Ghost set up that meeting. He may come down to our Oceanside pier event and who knows, I may get him to join the FBI in Jesus name. Pray for Ken, he is a good guy and he has a family. Remember, you are God’s representative on this earth and He has something for YOU to do today.
